Liza Soberano wants to know where the government support is for poor families.
On March 22, Liza Soberano asked some *genuine* questions.
“My heart bleeds for all the people who cannot afford not to go out and work. They literally have to choose between dying of starvation or dying of C0’VID. Is our country really this poor to [not] be able to provide stimulus?? Genuine question lang po,” Liza wrote.
Liza compared the country to the USA wherein they regularly received stimulus funds and the testing and the vaccines are free.
She added: “America has received two rounds of stimulus already, waiting on the third. Covid testing is free, vaccination is free. Where is the support for the poor in our country? Madali lang naman po mag-stay at home if everyone has food on the table and money to pay the bills.
Liza added that poor people will stay at home if they have food and money.
Soberano’s post has immediately received mixed reactions.
One even lectured Soberano not to expect that much from the country.
Liza’s tweets received both support and criticism from netizens. When some people pointed out that the Philippines is a “poor” country and not a first-world one, Liza retweeted a reply that reads:
“The point here is not to compare financial status but to compare where the funds go and how it was spent. We’re not, as you say, as rich as America and no, we’re not expecting every single Filipino to be fed or vaccinated. We just wanna see that at least SOME are getting help.”
